Had a fantastic time teaching this evening at Lovatos Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!! It was great to be back on the mats with the Teen Warriors tonight, and its always a great way to start Mondays as they are always so committed and bring in such great energy!! This is tournament week for them, so I ran them through some good transitional drills to help get them ready, and then we spent a lot of time on technique. This week will be dedicated to back defense and offense, and I showed a lot of back defense today, and Wednesday will be offense. They all picked up the techniques, and I am sure it will come in handy this weekend. I ended class with some sparring. Congrats to Jacob Absher for being the Teen Warrior student of the night!! And just from their energy I felt tonight, I cant wait to see them in action this weekend at the American Grappling Federation tournament, theyre ready!! After that, I went right into teaching the advanced jiu-jitsu class, and many of them will be competing this weekend as well. After a quick warm-up, I led them through some tournament drills, and we got right into technique. I also covered back defense with them, but in much further depth, and I covered some solid back offense too as well as strategy. I really hope everybody enjoyed the class, and my concept on transitional moments. After technique, I opened the mat up for sparring and drilling to end the evening. Congrats to Dylan Taylor Nguyen for being the student of the night!! Cant wait for Muay Thai in the morning with Mark H Beecher III!!
