Had a great win today. We have been having a problem with a terrible smell coming from our septic system. Had someone look at it, and they informed us that the problem was caused by our loo cleaning product, Domestos that we were using. Even though it is clearly printed on the container that the product is 100% septic safe, the product was killing the bacteria in the system, and hence the system was beginning to smell. After much thought, I decided to ring the manufacturer of Domestos. I explained the situation and said that I wanted them to pay the $370 to rectify the problem, because they state on the container that it is 100% septic safe, and it is not. The young lady I spoke to was very sympathetic to our dilemma and asked for some time so she could talk to the relevant bosses, as she was not in a position that allowed her to say yes or no. She rang back early this arvo, and said that they admit that they have printed on the container that the product is 100% septic safe, but when they looked into it further, they admitted that because of the high bleach content, that the product was NOT SEPTIC SAFE AT ALL. I was told to do what ever is required to rectify the problem, and send them the invoices for payment, which they confirmed by email. Finally a win for a battler.
