Had a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders yesterday. My oldest - TopicsExpress

Had a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders yesterday. My oldest son Dustin moved his family from Ballard to Adrian in early August . . . a move they have contemplated for years. Ballard High School was upset because they were losing one of their best if not the best basketball player. So they contested the move reporting to MSHSSA that it was for athletic reasons. Therefore, MSHSSA declared Nathan ineligible to participate in basketball at Adrian this season. Nathan lives and breathes to play basketball and, this being his senior year, would be devastating to him if he were not allowed to participate because of the vengeance of Ballard. So Adrian appealed the decision on Nathans behalf and Dustin, Sarah, Nathan and Adrians AD made the trip to Columbia yesterday to meet with the appeals board to try to get the decision overturned. Ballard was represented as well by their AD and superintendent. As it turns out, Ballard made a flimsy case against Nathan and the board voted unanimously to allow Nathan to play basketball at Adrian this year. God does answer prayers! So we are looking forward to a great season which begins at Sherwood this coming Monday. There is a lot more I could say about this but I will not lower myself to mudslinging. I am just happy that the drama is over and my grandson can get back to doing what he does best . . . entertaining his grandpa with slam dunks and 3-pointers! Good luck Nathan! You can bet Ill be there as often as I can watching you perform.
