Had a magical afternoon at the Leeds Grand Theatre with the incredible feel good show Shrek The Musical!!! Siena and I followed the online instructions and created some Shrek ears for her to wear and they were certainly a hit with her. I was turned into a gooey little kid when we also had the chance to meet the main man himself just before the show backstage... He was a total delight and a true star spending a treasured 10mins of his time in the magnificent costume that he has to endure from 1.30pm till 10pm!! Reaching 110degrees inside and having to drink over 7 litres of water to keep hydrated. The entire cast were incredible with my personal highlights being the comedy and charisma of LORD FARQUAAD with Gerard Carey enjoying and conveying every ounce and nuance of humour wholeheartedly, mainly relating to his clever short appearance. Poor sod is on his knees for the entire show! Dean Chisnell was a masterpiece to behold onstage and off and it was a true delight to have finally seen him in action. The encore was a rip roaring singalong that had the packed Leeds Grand Theatre audience in rapturous applause, leaving on a wonderful high. Full multi generational families were all raving about the enjoyment shared as we passed out into the evening sunshine. A must see!! Thankyou everyone who made our day so much fun, especially Kerry for getting us backstage to meet Dean!!!
