Had a mean as recovery sleep last night and now is a good time for some acknowledgements. First of all thanks to everyone who travelled from near and afar to come party with us at Urban Culture 2014! The first event of its kind in Levin and what a success it was! It was awesome experience MC-ing the event which was a last minute thing haha but had heaps of fun getting the crowd rarked up for the performers. A big thank you to all of our artists who competed, Maurice Blakout Williams Tony Buxton David Robertson Jordan Turner Danegerous Tk GUIDANCE Mika Te-paiho Thomas Hurrikane Pre Wilkie MC ERA. Awesome that we were able to showcase such a high calibre of talent and professionalism to our town! All of the performers were massive and without you the show would not have been possible so thanks to the brothers and sisters for coming out. To my babe Sammy Jo your hard work has not gone unnoticed thank you for all that you did from getting the licensing to running the bar to running around for us and everything else! Sharn Telle shot cuzzy the vision came to life and what a spectacle it was shot for all the mahi you did and proud as to have been part of this with you and Sammy mean maori mean! And I wanna thank my dad Gary Hibbs for holding it down in the kitchen serving up the mean kai thanks for coming down to help us and to all of our security and helpers and the Te Takere Youth Space 2013 crew thank you so much! To our special guests Sidney Diamond and Jay Jayrasik Bartlett shot brothas thank you for coming down to LVN for a mean party! Also big BIG shoutout to the Levin Performing Arts Society for letting us have our event in your venue its an awesome place and hopefully we can come back to do this again in the future. Not everything ran how it should have, especially having a power cut in the middle of the gig haha but I dont think we did too bad for our first time working together save for a couple of things. Next time we gonna have that shit on lock for yall beleeee dat! And before I finish this up I wanna say congratulations to Blakout and Gin20 for becoming the first ever URBAN CULTURE 2014 CHAMPIONS!
