Had a relaxing day in Venice today did some local shopping, went out to tea had pizza with my two favourite Ladies, sat outside on the Canal ordered what they called a man beer, they serve beer this size and put coffee in an egg cup. Sat outside because no one was inside, they seem keen on everyone sitting outside didnt know why until we had a storm then they ushered us inside, when we found out then that at 7pm we will have water at our feet, thought it was the rain coming in but it was actually the tide rising, the waiter said it will only get 6 deep as it was only a small .7m tide, the highest tide for the year is 1.5m. The cook and waiter just wade around serving and preparing food in the water. Its unbelievable that people live like this. Was a great pizza and we got out just as the water was coming in. The toilet suite at the hotel even has a hand basin for midgets.
