Had a very busy day yesterday. One of SuChHope (Sub-Saharan Childrens Hope Trust)s Form 2 (Year 9) beneficiarys guardian is relocating to a place 15km away and she can not walk this distance to school (this is rural Nyanga North). The school has over enrolled and has no more boarding places. I had to pick up my mobile and phone around to look for a boarding place. I was touched by the deputy head teacher of Regina Coeli High School who offered her a place. In his reply he said My Chitsenga and your team, you are doing a wonderful job for the future of these children and it is our duty here to make sure that we also do our part. The chances of her finishing school whilst walking a total distance of 30 km everyday are very slim. She will be an easy prey for societal predators. By the close play the little girl was already smiling; place secured, uniforms bought and stationery money wired. God is great! I had also a very compassionate telephone conversation with Dr Madambi, the Dean of Students at University of Zimbabwe where I discussed the welfare of the 6 under privileged who are studying there whom we are sponsoring their education. I feel inspired, humbled and honured when I hear and see other people trying to alleviate the suffering of under privileged children especially girls. I went home spiritually satisfied and at peace with my soul despite incurring a huge mobile phone bill. God bless these people who are going well out of their ways in trying to support these children.
