Had a very interesting afternoon - Carol and I were shopping after eating breakfast. We dropped off Jake for his surgery, went to breakfast, and then to the mall. We were approached by a couple working a Skincare Products booth (Dead Sea Premier products, good stuff, Carol has had it before a long time ago). They had strong accents and I knew they were not from here. We were asked the usual questions - ( Are you married, how long, any kids, what do you do for work, etc.). Very personable people. They are a young married couple. Asked about my tattoos and specifically my portrait tat of Carol. I dont really remember how the conversation got started because they were both talking to each of us simultaneously, but as we were checking out, he asked if we knew what flag was on their laptop as wallpaper. It was the flag of Israel. I told them I knew what it was. He had said earlier that they were both from Israel. I told him it was really cool to meet others from another country. As they were both talking, the lady (looked very young, but she was 32) asked if we have heard about the conflict in Israel. We said yes. She said everybody thinks that we started it but we didnt. It was Hamas. The guy said, We dont hate them or their children, we just want them to leave us alone, we want peace and not war with anybody. I told him, I support you, I support Israel. He became tearful and thanked me profusely, as did the lady. He said he was injured in a previous conflict while serving in the Israeli Army, and his wife was also in the Army in the recent past. I wished them luck and reiterated my support. He said they would listen to me on my radio show tomorrow night. So to my new Israeli friends, I will try to give you a shout-out tomorrow night and play a really cool song (they loved the fact that I work at a radio station and also play guitar, lol). Very interesting encounter...
