Had a very interesting day the other day!!!!! Ted and i went shopping. We came home He brought the big bag from Kohls in the house. About the time Ted Jr. came home, I started looking for the bag. I had told Ted to put it in our closet. It wasnt there!! So Ted Jr. and i looked everywhere, many times. With Ted following us around. He kept saying I dont know where it is. He even came out in the garage to watch Ted Jr; go up in the attic. So, not there either. We spent about 15 minutes looking. Teddy finally said Mom dont be angry with Dad he really has very little short term memory left. And he said its alright! I know you are frustrated but it is not his fault. And then he hugged me. So i decided i would have to go buy Scarletts and Kims presents again. I am giving everyone else money but wanted to buy Scarletts presents. About ten minutes later Ted disappeared into the bedroom. I thought he just had to use the restroom. But no, he came out with the presents,. Teddy and i looked at him and said, where were those?? Show us, Well, there is a space at the end of our closet where he always hangs extra hangers. So he but this big bag on a hanger and hug it there. Teddy and i both looked there but we both stood in the middle of the closet and looked around. And then as Teddy said afterward, Ted seemed like his old self for about 10 minutes and talked to us very coherently until he went away into his Alzheimer disease again. I treasure those moments that are getting farther away. If one of your loved ones has a terrible disease, try very hard to always be patient with the. I am afraid I can be impatient with Ted some time and i pray every day that God will help me to always be kind and have compassion. I love him heart and soul and always have. It is just hard at times. It is a awful thing for a Dr. to tell you nothing will ever get better only worse. I will always pray that God heal him but i am also realistic. I pray to stay well so i can take care of him. On a brighter note i think i am becoming a pretty good driver!!! Love to all and have a wonderful Christmas!!!
