Had a wonderful time with my family tonight to celebrate my recent retirement. When my daughter, Terra gave a beautiful toast, reminiscing my accomplishment of 44 years of work in the human services field, I could hardly believe it myself! When were in the thick of it, I dont think we really realize the good were doing. I am so grateful for a career that allowed me to earn money to take care of my family while touching the lives of so many others. A beautiful dinner, surrounded by my family, and their very generous gift of a laptop, mouse, and carrying bag was so very appreciated! We missed Kyle Blakeslee and Madeline Mindy and Hunter, but understand that when youre keeping your nose to the grindstone to support your family, sometimes the fun stuff falls to the wayside. I cant count the number of times, when I felt I had to opt for work. I thank my family for being so understanding during those times, and know that someday your family will honor that work ethic and effort in you too, as well. I hope to be around to be part of that...but, as tonight, whoever isnt there to actually partake, is carried in our hearts and minds forever. I am so grateful for, and proud of, this wonderful family Im blessed to be part of!💜
