Had the honor of attending the Annual Awards Banquet for the 552nd Air Control Wing this evening as the new Honorary Commander of the 964th AACS. As we enjoyed seeing the events of the evening play out and hear the award winners announced, I could not get past the thoughts in my mind about one particular topic of conversation that was a very recurring theme during the social hour. For those of you who arent aware the Air Force is considering eliminating over 25,000 jobs and no one knows if they are safe. In the age of suicide bombers, terrorist threats and global unrest the Greatest Nation In The World is REDUCING the size of its military with drastic cuts of both resources and troops. All the while other countries such as China and Russia are INCREASING the size of their military. THIS cannot be good. I want to say a huge THANK YOU for those who have served both past and present. Thank you for all you do and what you and your families have sacrificed. May this be short lived and may a new administration restore what has been undone. QUICKLY!
