On the upside, a break above 1.3580 resistance will indicate that the downward movement from 1.3699 had completed at 1.3507 already, then further rise to 1.3650 area could be seen. Short: Hold on to short positions initiated at 1.3560 with a stop at 1.3590 for a profit target of 1.3470 At 1.3660 with a stop at 1.3700 for a profit target of 1.3470 GBPUSD GBPUSD broke above the downward trend line on 4-hour chart, indicating that the downtrend from 1.6593 had completed at 1.6309 already. Further rise could be expected, and next target would be at 1.6570 area. Support is at 1.6390, only break below this level could trigger another fall to 1.6270 zone. Short: Hold on to short positions initiated at 1.6480 with a stop at 1.6530 for a profit target of 1.6380 USDJPY USDJPY is forming a sideways consolidation in a range between 102.85 and 105.44. As long as 102.85 key support holds, the price action in the range could be treated as consolidation of the uptrend from 96.57 (Oct 8, 2013 low), one more rise towards 110.00 could be expected after consolidation. On the downside, a breakdown below 102.85 support will indicate that the uptrend from 96.57 had completed at 105.44 already, then the following downward movement could bring price back to 95.00 zone. Short: At 104.80 with a stop at 105.20 for a profit target of 103.70 Long: At 102.60 with a stop at 102.20 for a profit target of 104.00 At 102.00 with a stop at 101.50 for a profit target of 104.00 USDCHF USDCHF remains in uptrend from 0.8986, the fall from 0.9156 could be treated as consolidation of the uptrend. Support is located at the lower line of the price channel on 4-hour chart. As long as the channel support holds, the uptrend could be expected to resume, and one more rise towards 0.9400 is still possible. On the downside,a clear break below the channel support will indicate that lengthier consolidation of the longer term uptrend from 0.8799 is underway, then pullback to 0.9000 area could be seen. GOLD Short: At 1220.00 with a stop at 1228.00 for a target of 1190.00 Long: At 1230.00 with a stop at 1222.00 for a target of 1260.00 GBP/JPY Short: At 173.20 with a stop at 173.50 for a profit target of 171.00 Long: At 173.60 with a stop at 173.00 for a profit target of 175.00 EUR/JPY Short: At 142.10 with a stop at 142.40 for a profit target of 141.00 AUD/USD AUDUSD remains in downtrend from 0.9085, the rise from 0.8756 is likely consolidation of the downtrend. Resistance is at 0.8920, as long as this level holds, the downtrend could be expected to resume, and another fall towards 0.8500 is still possible. On the upside, a break above 0.8920 resistance will indicate that lengthier consolidation of the longer term downtrend from 0.9756 (Oct 23, 2013 high) is underway, and the target would be at 0.9000 zone. Short: At 0.8845 with a stop at 0.8885 for a profit target of 0.8765 * * Trade initiated at 00.30- 00.45 AM GMT on Wednesday, 22nd January 2014 USD/CAD USDCAD stays within a upward price channel and remains in uptrend from 1.0588, and the rise extended to as high as 1.1018. As long as the channel support holds, the uptrend could be expected to continue, and next target would be at 1.1100 area.
