For more info you can message me or call me at 1-877-661-2233 ext 1. This is what I have so far. My name is Varuni Persaud, I am 16 years old. I was born with multiple medical complications and spent the entire first year of my life in the hospital. I went home with my family on my first birthday, my life since then has consisted of many more hospital stays and doctors visits. I needed a tracheotomy at birth so I could breathe and I spend most of my time on a ventilator. I am currently on the list for a lung transplant, but theres no telling how long I will be waiting. My condition recently took a turn for the worst, I was at Shands Childrens Hospital for 3 months. After all the treatments they offer were unsuccessful, they sent me home to wait. Theres a stem cell treatment offered by The Lung Institute in Tampa that is changing the lives of people just like me with severe lung disease by using their very own stem cells. Donations raised would cover medical expenses not covered by insurance. If I could get this treatment it would give me a chance to live like a normal teenager and enjoy things that my sisters are able to do.
