Had the weekend away in Minehead to relive the past a little and get a clear view of the practice. It is clear that the therapy market is becoming a very crowded one with some schools spiting out "HYPNOTHERAPISTS?" in just one weekend of training, Jon chase calls them "Scriptotherapists". This means that prices vary and we must decide if we compete with them. The problem is educating the public to know that, not all therapists have the same degree of training and life experience. I believe the best therapists are those who have been there AND moved on (very important). I was once told "We can all learn to play the piano, but not all of us will become pianists" I have spent many thousands on my training beyond the class room, with hypnotists who are amazing and so many of my methods are unique to my practice. I am always pleased when clients come along and tell me "I had hypnotherapy before and it did not work for me but I thought I would give you a try as you came highly recommended" This enforces that people are talking about the way I work and that the public are willing to continue trying till they find the right person to help them (not fix them) but, Help them solve their problem. This has helped me decide to not compete in price wars and to value the vast amount of work I put into my practice. We are seeing many clients now for the "stop smoking" therapy which is a unique single session treatment. Many clients ask, does it work and all I can tell them is that, in the 3 years since I created this program and rolled it out, no-one has come back and asked for a booster session and I do get a great amount of referral clients - Onwards and upwards
