Haggai 1:5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. Sometimes God allows us to go through certain situations, at times misfortunes befall us & we oft wonder why these calamities have come upon us, yet the Lord still echoes the words Consider your ways, meaning that at times the reason why things seem to be going backward instead of foward, the reason why despite all our efforts, nothing seems to be happening is because we need to refocus our lives & give God His due accord, as our Shepherd, guide, leader & master, ensuring that He leads & we follow, not daring to stray away from Him, knowing that all other ground is sinking sand. In the book of Haggai, the Lord calls upon us to put our houses in order, to give careful consideration to our ways, to return to our 1st love back to the days when we used to be on fire for Jesus, when we used to wake up early to pray, when we used to go into seasons of fasting & intercessory prayer, when we used to visit the sick & the incacerated, when we would give to the orphans & widows, when Jesus was at the centre stage using us as instruments to touch lives & change situations for the glory of God. Now all we do is look at the specks in our brethrens eyes, judging others, placing stumbling blocks in our brothers paths, having homes destroyed, lives shattered & hearts torn apart because of our inability to mind our own business & we wonder why things are the way they are, why there are recurrent calamities in our lives, it is because sometimed God is speaking to us through those situations telling us that we really need to put our houses in order. God help us not only to have a form of godliness, but to be true christians who worship him in spirit & in truth & be able to consider our ways so that He showers us with His blessings from above.
