Hall of Failures ACHAN: OBEDIENCE FAILURE Over the course of the days in October, we have been travelling the road of failure. We have been discovering people and their unique failure stories. I have learnt a great deal from these stories to enrich my life. These stories continually open my eyes to the fact that when you do what failures do, you will get the same results they get. There is no two ways about that. For instance, the result of eating immediately before sleep, over sleeping and late showing up at work can without fail be predicted. Failure all the way! Let’s turn our attention to the story of disobedience which led a whole nation to suffer. Achan was a warrior who went with the fighting force of Israel to conquer a city. They were successful. But a problem arose that when they faced a smaller city, they were flatly defeated. Why? Achan disobeyed the voice that said that no one should hoard anything. He did and the whole nation reaped the result. When you fail to obey principles or counsel, you will suffer an equal measure of harvest. Successful people have internalized that they will always avoid what failures do. Failures fear to make bold decisions but successful people make bold decisions anyway.
