Hamilton Police 911 Disruption For immediate release: September 11, 2014 Hamilton, ON On Wednesday, September 10, 2014 Hamilton Police were conducting a scheduled electrical upgrade which unexpectedly disrupted the 911 system. This disruption lasted for approximately 60 minutes. During this time, Hamilton Police were able to track incoming 911 calls which allowed Hamilton Police to call back to the originators of the 911 calls and dispatch police. The Service’s administrative telephone lines were not affected and in an effort to ensure timely response to citizens, Hamilton Police used social media to inform citizens and request that the Service’s administration line be used. The upgrade was now been completed.
