Hamilton Tiger-Cats Vice President of Football Operations, General Manager and Head Coach Kent Austin today officially unveiled the team’s coaching staff for the 2014 season. Kent Austin Head Coach, GM and Vice President of Football Operations Tommy Condell Offensive Coordinator and Receivers Coach Orlondo Steinauer Defensive Coordinator Jeff Reinebold Special Teams Coordinator and Linebackers Coach Allen Rudolph Offensive Line Coach Corey Grant Running Backs and Offensive Quality Control Coach Dennis McPhee Defensive Line Coach James Stanley Defensive Backs Coach John Zamberlin Assistant Special Teams Coach and U.S. Scout Marcello Simmons Assistant Defensive and Special Teams Coach Tommy Condell returns as Offensive Coordinator and Receivers Coach. Ticats offence ranked in the top three in 13 different categories including first downs (397 – 2nd), and offensive yards per game (373.1 – 2nd). Prior to arriving in Hamilton, Condell spent the previous three years at Cornell as Assistant Head Coach and Receivers Coach. Orlondo Steinauer will begin his second season as Defensive Coordinator in 2014. In Steinauer’s first season as defensive coordinator, the Ticats defence allowed 108 fewer points than they did in 2012. Steinauer joined the Ticats last year after three seasons as a member of the Toronto Argonauts coaching staff. Jeff Reinebold will resume his role as Special Teams Coordinator while adding the title of Linebackers Coach this season. Reinebold, who will enter his 12th season in the CFL, joined the Ticats staff in 2013. Allen Rudolph is back as Offensive Line Coach after finishing his first CFL season with the Black and Gold in 2013. Corey Grant enters his second season as Running Backs and Offensive Quality Control Coach after entering the coaching ranks last season. Dennis McPhee will continue as Defensive Line Coach. McPhee will enter his 12th season with the Ticats in 2014 following two previous stints with the Black and Gold. After joining the Ticats staff in 2013, James Stanley resumes his duties as Defensive Backs Coach. Stanley arrived in Hamilton last year after stops with the Toronto Argonauts and Calgary Stampeders. John Zamberlin will now serve as Assistant Special Teams Coach while also assisting with the personnel department as U.S. Scout after two seasons in Hamilton as Linebackers Coach. Marcello Simmons joins the Tiger-Cats staff as Assistant Defensive and Special Teams Coach. Simmons spent last season with Saint Mary’s as the Huskies Defensive Coordinator after serving as Special Teams Coordinator with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2012. Simmons began his coaching career as the Toronto Argonauts Special Teams Coordinator in 2003, a post he would hold for six seasons before assistant coaching stints with the Seattle Seahawks, Acadia University and the University of Guelph.
