Hanafi school of Islam relies heavily on qiya - that is consultation, relevance,reasoning and contemporary interpretation of religious texts, it doesnt promote about Back to Caliphate movements like hard line middle east school of thoughts like Hanbali and Malliki. In India two decades back there was no widespread presence of hard line ,traditionalist and conservative Islam but today we have even on Facebook pages like I am a Muslim first and Indian Next. Secularism should ,by design ,defeat communalism, In India this has not happened as we see one type of communalism led to a another type of communal resurgence. Congress should be held responsible for this. I agree with A K Anthony and Digvijaya Singh on this.
