Handmade: A Creative Clay Studio at Gallery GitanjaliThe Creative Clay Workshop is an introduction to clay play with Verodina de Sousa for children above 6years of age .The workshop will be held from 8th February 2014 to 1st March 2014, every Saturday ,5.30pm to 6.30pm at Gallery Gitanjali About VerodinaGoas most well loved sculptor,Verodina trained in clay at the Teachers Training Center in Mumbai after graduating from the Goa College of Art. Starting of as a potter she evolved as sculptor in her continuous search for transforming her ‘self-realization’ into forms and figures using clay. Het works include the fisherwoman traffic island at Panjim and a four-meter high figure of the risen Christ at the Bambolim church, all iconic witnesses of her rich sculpting talent .Verodina believes in blending traditional and modern methods to integrate utility into her designs.“There are lot of interesting techniques used abroad. We are unaware of all these new developments,” explains Verodina, who is eager to learn and adapt the newer techniques of production. With twenty-five years of experience in this field, Verodina has crossed a lot of boundaries. She has progressed from simple forms and designs to making expressive terracotta figurines.
