Handy tip/thought for the day as I go continue the journal to nationals: Concious glute activation is a great benefit to anyone with any kind of compound leg movement from Squats/deadlift... to cycling ... to a basic function of walking up stairs and is often forgot or assumed to be activating (see quite alot of tell tale signs in my IG feed videos) The body with naturally think Qwwaarrdss Qwwaarrddss Qwwaaarrdss as these are quite dominate. This is all fine however you are potentially limiting your power, efficiency overall work load and possibly increase your chance of injury to other muscles / joints in the closed kinetic chain.
