Happy 2015 everyone. Here is Chriss message about this year from our recent brochure: FRIENDS, This year two ongoing training groups will commence, the Three Year Training and the Vision Quest Guardian Training. During my own training I lived in close proximity to my teachers. Shamanic practise and ceremony was part of everyday life, and the teachings naturally became an integral part of existence. By being around my teachers the whole day, month after month, year after year, I was constantly encouraged to go deeper in my understanding and to embody the teachings. This is the traditional way of learning, and it is a way of applied spirituality. Studying in this manner requires a full commitment and all of your time, and is not a real option for most people in the modern world. Therefore Northern Drum has developed the ongoing training groups as a way for modern westerners to study and go into an educational process for ‘modern shamans’, so to say. In the training groups there is an emphasis on maintaining the authentic qualities that are present in traditional training situations, and to be true to the essence of this ancient spiritual path.
