Happy 25th Birthday BCBGMaxAzria! Take a Look Back at Their Most Iconic Dresses Worn by Angelina Jolie, Beyonce and More! ift.tt/1ksurHB If there is one designer that epitomizes my style, it is BCBGMaxAzria. For the past ten years, Max and Lubov Azrias gorgeous, delicate designs have lined my closets and taken me from red carpet events to the most intimate soirees. In fact, my headshot above features a Grecian azure halter top from their 2006 collection that Im still obsessed with to this day. So, to commemorate the brands 25th anniversary, BCBGMaxAzria invited a small group of journalists and fashionistas to celebrate Living the Bon Chic Live, a retrospective exhibition at their showroom featuring some of their most iconic designs (worn by the biggest A-list stars) to their Herve Leger collection to a pop-up store that you can shop! Join me on the tour! Founded in 1989, Max Azria designed to pursue his dream of launching a design house that spoke to the modern woman, and BCBGMAXAZRIA was born. The brand launched as B.G.B.G., Bon Chic Bon Genre Paris. In 1998, BCBGMaxAzria Group acquired the esteemed Herve Leger fashion house, marking the first time in history that a French couturier had been absorbed by an American designer. One of Angelina Jolies most iconic looks happened in 2008 at the Cannes Film Festival when she wore Max Azria Atelier. Not only was she pregnant with twins Vivienne and Knox, but it was one of the first times the star stepped out onto the carpet in a color other than black, navy or white. The dress was brought out specifically for the 25th Anniversary celebration last night, and the green chiffon gown is even more spectacular in person. The criss-cross structured pattern in the back was a nice departure from traditional backless gowns. In 2010, Beyonce stunned on the carpet in this low-cut halter alongside husband Jay-Z. Stunning! In fact, you can go behind-the-scenes and see what its like to do a model fitting session, thanks to our own Nikki Ogunnaike, who go to do that last Fall. One of Rihannas gowns from 2006 made an appearance on the Red Carpet exhibit. BCBGMaxAzrias A-list following includes Alicia Keys, Halle Berry, Fergie, Carrie Underwood, Rachel Bilson, Angelina Jolie, Michelle Obama, January Jones, Olivia Palermo and more. Each piece is constructed from individually knit bandages, engineered to contour curves and transform the body. BCBGMaxAzria debuted their first womens collection during New York Fashion Week in 1996. All designs start with a basic white mens shirt, and then they are transformed into the feminine silhouettes you see in stores. Impressive! Famed photographer Patrick Demarchelier is responsible for capturing many of the runway looks throughout the years. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (our 2013 August cover girl!) was featured heavily during the 2006 campaign. Yes, it really was like being a kid in a candy store! Herve Legers signature bandage dress is probably the silhouette that Ive seen most Hollywood men salivate over throughout the years.
