Happy 81st Birthday to my Mom, Betty Walsh. Many times she has been described to me as a character. I know what that means and indeed she is. But shes much more and if you dont know that, you are missing who she really is. No one else has loved me as completely and honestly, I have not yet found the way to love my own children in the same unfaltering way. My mother willed me into being and maintained me under what would be extremely difficult circumstances. She never told me that I couldnt accomplish something. When I wavered in my commitment to the call that God gave me to step into the lives of children, it was my mother who told me to pray for safety and keep moving - fear is of the Devil after all. My mother also happens to be very beautiful on the outside, an unavoidable fact that is not diminished even in these early eighty years. Mom, you can make me crazy, yes, but I have enjoyed this gift of taking you for granted. I do hope that you will be making me crazy as I no doubt continue to take you for granted. So grateful to be your middle child.
