Happy Birthday Leroy Lonnie Jordan (born November 21, 1948 in San Diego, California). He is a founding member of the Funk group War first formed in 1969. He was among the first three people to join the group after its inception, having joined before the group adopted the name War he was vocalist and playing guitar, piano, synthesizer, and percussion. The group best known for hit songs such as, Low Rider, Spill the Wine, Summer, Why Cant We Be Friends?, Galaxy,Youngblood (Livin in the Streets), Cinco de Mayo, Me & Baby Brother, The Cisco Kid, and The World Is a Ghetto. War toured extensively across Europe and the United States. A reviewer from New Musical Express called War the best live band I ever saw. War were unsuccessfully nominated for 2009 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. GARY
