Happy Birthday Phil Spectors Christmas album - 50 years old this week! Phil only needed 4 lead artists to record the whole album Darlene, La La, Ronnie and the late Bobby Sheen (Bob B Soxx.) There are no left over songs, no alt takes, no studio chatter - no differing shots considered for the album cover as it is a composite - the artists were never photographed together and not even on the same day! Deeply honoured to have Darlene, La La and Ronnie as my Facebook friends as well as Phils boys and wife Rachelle - I get a tingle every time I pass a store doorway and hear ringa ling a ring dang dong. Never released in stereo on CD and only once on album in stereo for a brief period - which is a dozen times more exciting (pic2)! I have 300 plus Christmas albums no other comes anywhere near! x
