Happy Birthday to my sweet Salem Finn. His name means peace, but his entrance to this world was slightly turbulent! I have been reminiscing a lot lately. This time last year Cameron and I were headed up to Chapel Hill to meet our boy who had been medi-vacd to the nicu ahead of us shortly after his birth. We soon found how fortunate we were to still have him and how he was days away from being a stillborn due to the antibodies from my body crossing over into his and destroying his blood cells. God has truly protected Salem, and has spared us much sorrow. Words cannot express how grateful we are to now have a joyful, curious, stubborn, healthy and happy little 1 year old boy. I am also reminded of the wonderful friends and family we have who uplifted us with encouragement, love, generosity, service, and thoughtfulness during that time. There is much to celebrate :) Happy birthday, my little laddie!
