Happy Birthday today (Jan. 10) to UK singer Rod Stewart of The Hoochie Coochie Men, Steampacket, Shotgun Express, The Jeff Beck Group, Faces (UK #6 & US #7 Stay With Me) & solo (1971 UK & US #1 Maggie May); with his career now in its 6th decade, he has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best selling music artists of all time; in the UK, he has had six consecutive #1 albums & his tally of 62 hit singles include 31 that reached the Top 10, six of which topped the charts; he has had 16 Top 10 singles in the US, with four of these reaching #1; Rod was ranked #33 by Q Magazine & #59 by Rolling Stone on their lists of The 100 Greatest Singers of All Time; he was inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame as a solo artist in 1994 & again as a member of Faces in 2012; he published Rod: The Autobiography in 2012; his most recent album is the 2013 Time...(lets take the time capsule back to the glory days when Rod actually cared to rock! ;-)
