Happy Day #7: Dirty underwear = no clean left.= ulimate motivation for doing laundry. Enough said. Got a Friday treat when I stopped by Saint Davids and came upon Maze Stephan and her young engineers camp.with 30 kids, give or take a few. They were having a blast outside - but I got to see what they had been doing inside - so much fun learning going on from age 4 to 12. Then they showed me what they had been learning put to music including the planets, the table of elements, and the lightning round. Speaks well for the future of STEM in Ledyard. Thanks Maze! Saturday morning got to have a quick breakfast with Debbie Sells Hobert at the newly opened family buffet place on Col. Ledyard. It was packed! Nice blueberry pancakes with strawberries on top. It wad good to be able to waller in someone elses bad moments for a change - so much so that we both had a hearty laugh. Granted getting hit by a drunk driver anf losing your car is a serious matter but having the police comment subsequently that it hadnt been her week was the cherry on top. Later that afternoon, dripping to the gills after a long walk, kitchen cleaning and more paperwork rummaging I got to host my college roommste and bridesmaid, Diane Courchaine Cole, who was en route from Maryland to Enfield for her moms 85th birthdday weekend. It was so great to spend some leisurely down time with her. I looked at her thinking how young she and I still are, how somehow these visits, though few and far between, seem to erase time. What joy that adds to life. Combine that with the informal installation of our .Priest-in- Charge Rachel Thomas at todays service (yes I got up on time to briefly walk Sammy before), the pleasant surprise that Robin Martell can really play the organ, and a leisurely Southern breakfast at Parkes with Eve and Jack White and voila! I am able to find more occasions to share smiles than tears. Naptime now on a beautiful afternoon. Thank you Lord.
