Dont get hung up on the fact that its a series of holiday apartments and not fully-serviced hotel rooms because you would be doing yourself a disservice. Fred and Antonia are gems. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and well organized. Tours, restaurants, and other local info is just a single question away with them. They cant work 24/7 but theyve taken extraordinary steps to make themselves accessible at all times. They know when to expect your arrival and genuinely look forward to it. This is the most personalized service youll get at this price anywhere. The Martinique itself is beautiful. Koi pond on the entry, flowing water features, and lush vegetation to remind you that youre in the tropics. The apartments are elegant and unassuming. Designed to be efficient and comforting. Unlike any regular hotel room, there are plenty of spaces to sit and lounge. Ultimately the location of the Martinique is key. It isnt where the late-night (relative to PD, 11p is getting late) vacationers or locals hang around to party so its quiet when you sleep. But if you want to go out for a late night you are a block down the road from great bars and pubs. Theres even a rotated schedule for happy hours between them all. As for the beach, Four Mile is stunning and like something direct from a postcard. At night it is awe-inspiring. I chose the Martinique for its location. I fell in love with the Martinique because it is a full package for a casual vacationer, like myself, who appreciates friendly service, location, and flexibility.
