Happy Friday Dear Friends - I want to share a quick story with you that happened yesterday. I saw one of our clients looking a little stressed while going through a pile of papers - I walked over to ask him what was wrong. Looking for a job, he told me. And then quietly added, Im too young to be here....its so hard, sometimes I feel like giving up. Oh My Goodness, that just broke my heart. This 28 year old man is using every ounce of his strength to stay sober, turn his life around and do the right thing. He may be homeless but Ive seen him walking into the cafe with a suit and tie, grabbing something to eat before heading out to look for a job again. We talked for quite a long time yesterday - today, he has a smile on his face and is hitting the pavement again in search of a job. I wanted to share this story because I think sometimes people see our clients and develop their own story-line about why they are here...or what their lives are like. In reality, many here just need a chance and to know that someone cares. When you donate to Beans not only do you help us feed and give day shelter to those in need - you also help pay for our staff.....the ones who encourage and lift up the spirits of our clients.
