Happy Friday! Woke up at 4:00 AM for no reason and had a hilariously inappropriate half-hour conversation with C before he fell asleep. Nope, not gonna detail it here. Youll just have to imagine what on earth I (of all people) would deem hilariously inappropriate. The chicks are getting big, fast. They loves them some chopped lettuce, and The Hand is still their buddy/mom. Ill have to take new pictures this weekend. At the rate they are growing, I need to take pics every couple days. I have not introduced them to mealie worms yet - Id like them to be a little older, first. Too much protein isnt good for them as newbies, and mealie worms are all protein. One of my grape vines actually broke under the weight of the grapes - my own fault, for not supporting the vine further down. No biggie - even if it dies, I can simply plant more, which is what I intended to do anyhow along the fence. Grapes grow crazy-good out here in the desert canyons. They love the summer heat, and the crisp winters. I gave away about 15 pounds of grapes from the sheared off vine, and still saved back another 3 pounds or so, to make raisins. This year we have not had any problems with raccoons going after grapes, because I made sure I trimmed off all the bunches on the other side of our fence. The new neighbor would not have appreciated raccoon fights on the side of her house, at 3:00 AM like we had last year. As mentioned further down, that filling on the side of my front tooth broke for the third time. I suppose I ought be happy that each time it has broken, the piece that came off was smaller than the time before. Maybe by my 4th or 5th repair, what breaks will not be noticeable. Bah. I didnt want to have yet another crown, but obviously that is going to be in my future, and hopefully before I have the hip replacement. If I have to get it afterward, that means being on antibiotics, which I do not like to take (messes up all the gut flora for many months).
