Happy Holidays to all gardeners. Today I noticed some beds have too much mulch which can be as bad or even worse than no mulch so please keep it in balance; specially those plots under the trees as they get free mulch in the form of leaves falling from them. Also, if your bed is tightly planted, you shouldnt need as much mulch as someone who only has a few plants in it. When there are seeds and little seedlings in the soil it is preferable to mulch just lightly on top of them as they can be smothered otherwise.
