Happy Hump Day followers! Today’s Happy Tail shows the importance of microchipping your pet. Fran reported that Kammy had been missing since April this year. Our Lost and Team created a file and searched through our databases, but had no luck in finding Kammy. Fran did not give up—she put up signs, rang every vet and council close by, and posted ads on Gumtree and in local classifieds, all with no luck. Fran helped to reunite other white cats with their owners, but there was never a lead on her Kammy. Four months later, on this Monday just gone, Fran received a phone call from our RSPCA Wacol shelter. A cat had come in, and when scanned for a microchip, Fran’s details had popped up. “I nearly dropped dead. Couldnt believe it. Finally got to see him in the pound and just lost it. Sobbed into his fur and just cuddled him. Now hes home and doesnt leave my side. Sleeps on my chest and follows me everywhere. I cant thank you enough for everything. Thank god we had him chipped!!” Now, thanks to something as small as a grain of rice, Kammy is home safe and sound. It looks like he couldn’t be happier!
