Happy Independence Day to my fellow countrymen at large and especially to our esteemed members of Land that we Love. I greet you all in the spirit of our fraternity and shared aspirations for our homeland. We aspire for a better homeland inspired by the example of others worthy of our emulation. Inspired by the dreams we seek to nurture because in our hearts we exalt our country and therefore seek her fullest promise. Together, in small steps, we shall behold her glory and enjoy the paradise that God gave us. It takes all of us to join hands to work together and take those small steps together. Ants are tiny but with a concerted effort of labour, they build an anthill that defys their individual size. It shows there is strength in numbers. Friends, patriots and countrymen, I want you to consider this day for what it is, a country survived, the dashed dreams of those before us, the hopes of a generation looking for a way forward and the promise we need to make to a future generation. We start by doing the small things that matter for our collective good. We learn to love and appreciate. We make sacrifices for others. We become our brothers and sisters keeper. We not only celebrate a day but we can do that in conjunction with our contributions to our less fortunate countrymen. The spirit of giving should be effortless without a prayer or a rationale. Lets take the Oxygen for Sierra Leone home. We are almost there. Lets give mama Salone a birthday gift . May God bless your hearts and may God bless Sierra Leone.
