Police work can be funny at times...and frustrating, as well. Today, it was a little bit of both...story time: We all see people roll thru stop signs, right? Well, this guy went through it about 25 MPH....thats clue #1. Traffic stop is initiated. Driver gets out without being told to do so...obviously nervous...thats clue #2. I ask him for his drivers license...he pats his pockets, as if he forgot his wallet...thats clue #3. I ask him to be completely honest with me about his license, as cops get lied to for a living and we really appreciate when people are honest once in a while. He tells me its suspended. I ask him where hes going to in such a hurry. He says hes actually going to Massillon Muni Court. I ask him what time his court appearance is. He says 8:45. I look at my watch and its 9:05am. Okay, thats an issue...so I ask what hes supposed to be in court for. He tells me its for Driving Under Suspension. All I could think was: Wow. Well...the good news is: We gave him a ride to court. A good cop can find humor in anything... Enjoy the heat :) Sgt B Muntean
