Happy January 6th! For some of us its the Epiphany, for others its a feria. Here are some prayers for today... satucket/lectionary/Epiphany.htm Opening... Nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. (Isaiah 60:3) O Lord, open our lips. And our mouth shall proclaim your praise. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever Amen. The Lord has shown forth his glory: Come let us adore him. Canticle 18 A Song to the Lamb, (Revelation 4:11, 5:9-10, 13) Splendor and honor and kingly power * are yours by right, O Lord our God, For you created everything that is, * and by your will they were created and have their being; And yours by right, O Lamb that was slain, * for with your blood you have redeemed for God, From every family, language, people, and nation, * a kingdom of priests to serve our God. And so, to him who sits upon the throne, * and to Christ the Lamb, Be worship and praise, dominion and splendor, * for ever and for ever more. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen. The Lord has shown forth his glory: Come let us adore him. Collect for Epiphany... O God, by the leading of a star you manifested your only Son to the all the people of the earth: Lead us, who know you now by faith, to your presence, where we may see your glory face to face; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. In the World Cycle of Prayer, we remember and pray for the people of Niue. In the Ecumenical Cycle of Prayer, we remember and pray for our sisters and brothers who are members of Jeypore Evangelical Lutheran Church. A Collect for Christmastide... O God, who wonderfully created, and yet more wonderfully restored, the dignity of human nature: Grant that we may share the divine life of him who humbled himself to share our humanity, your Son Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. Add your personal intentions/petitions/thanksgivings/praises... To my humble supplications O Lord, give ear and acceptation Save us, your servants, that have no Help nor hope but You alone. Amen. Benediction... Let us bless the Lord this day through all that we say and do. Thanks be to God.
