Happy National Dogs Day Australia! Dogs, be it the biggest boofhead or the most petite poppet, bring with them an abundance of joy, warmth, unconditional love, a capacity to forgive beyond human capability, and companionship that spans all ages. Today we pay tribute to all dogs, the privileged ones in happy homes, but especially the abandoned and neglected many, those protecting the community, as well as companion animals. We acknowledge them all especially today. Our family has been blessed with the companionship of dogs all our lives, and we often rejoice and laugh,....and cry, with the memories of those that have enriched our lives with immense joy and love, but have since passed away. Today, Vlekkie and Elvis are an integral part of the family, both showering every member of our family with immense love and companionship. Vlekkie, our Jack Russell of 12 years, all the way from South Africa, is a diabetic and blind, but she is still young at heart and ready for hunting expeditions while out on walks. Always there to greet us with a waggie tail and absorbs all our cuddles and kisses with great patience and dignity! Elvis, our Maltese Cross of 4 years is a bundle of mischievious energy and has the ability to make us giggle while bringing out the child in all of us as he coaxes us into playing games with him......hide and seek with his human sister is his favourite. His face tells a million stories, mostly of a joy for life and love! Thank you babies.....today, the daily walk has been extra long and the menu included extra chicken.
