Happy New Year 2-13 Family and Friends - we hope that you had a WONDERFUL time with your SIT. This is our first week back at it - soooooo...... We have come to the part of the cycle where we begin to talk about the mail cut- off date. This cycle those dates are: C, D, E: Wednesday,14 Jan 15 A, B, F: Wednesday, 21 Jan 15 It can take up to 2 weeks from the time you drop a letter/package in the mail for your Soldier to receive it at Fort Jackson and mail is NOT forwarded to AIT from 2-13. Hence, the reason for the 2 week cut-off date is so that all mail is received by graduation. Your Soldiers can continue to send you mail right up to and including graduation day though. This is always a bittersweet time because on the one hand you can no longer send mail, but on the other hand that means your Soldiers are getting close to graduation!!! You still have time to get everything together and in the mail and we encourage you to continue to send your Soldier mail up till the cut- off date! With that said, only 4-5 weeks till graduation!!! You can make it!!!! From past cycles, some families recommend sending sealed dated letters that can be opened by your Soldier after mail has been cut-off.
