Happy New Year Everyone! For me, this year has been arguably the most significant and transformative of my life. This is the year of truth for me as I have not only found a faith that works for me, but have discovered many things about myself and the world . More than ever, I feel like I have a clear understanding of who I am and what I stand for in life. I no longer am in a constant state of confusion and inner confliction. That being said, there is still a whole world out there to discover even more and Im looking forward to continue seeking knowledge and understanding so that one day I can contribute something of value and of virtue to the those less fortunate than me who unfortunately do not look forward to the new year as it means a continuing of their incessant struggle to survive. I hope we all take this time of self-reflection and desire for self-improvement to remember that we are all citizens of the world; not of any country, state, race, city, tribe etc. We all have an obligation to seek knowledge in this world in the hopes of its understanding and eventual improvement. I know that can be daunting at times and I know that its easy to succumb to cynicism and despair but we must overcome those feelings. Because it is those feelings of ignorance and pessimism that will ultimately be the cause of humanitys downfall. We can either take this new year to sit idly in our comfortable homes afraid to confront the problems of the world or we can take the initiative to look at the world not as a lost cause but as a chance for improvement. I wish everyone a happy and healthy new year. For the believers out there, may God bless us all and may we always turn to Him when times get hard for God is sufficient for all of us.
