Best wishes for 2015 :) In 2014 we sadly lost the Godfather of House Music, the incomparable Frankie Knuckles. 25 years ago, he played at the New Years Eve 1989 Countdown Party in Sydney, his first time on Australian shores. A young H2O had driven up from Melbourne to see him and while dancing away he met a guy called Jason Rudeboy. We just really connected as people who enjoyed the same kind of stuff, recalls H2O. The pair soon became one of the most influential partnerships in the early Melbourne rave and techno scene when just a few months later they opened Maze, Australias first techno club, at the Commerce Club in Flinders Lane. Im reckoning this track probably got played on that fateful night in Sydney a quarter of a century ago:
