Happy November!! As many of you know I have been talking for almost 20 years about all the reasons why we do NOT stretch before activity...these are the same reasons we shouldnt stretch after activity. (Why didnt I think of that!?! I was too busy trusting everyone else and not the muscle physiology I learned!) I want you to feel strong and balanced after your workout so your body moves well for the rest of the day! Please read this article, it explains it so well! It also gives you examples of active vs passive stretching so you have a better idea of what you can do after activity to strengthen your range of motion without forcing an unstable range. I cannot stress enough how NOT sore I feel now, how I am not stiff after sitting for a long time, how my old hip pain I used to suffer with is a distant memory and how many hours a week I have saved on stretching, only to tighten up and have to stretch again.
