Happy Wednesday, Friends! They always say, Everything is bigger in Texas! Apparently, that goes for talent, as well! This young lady is stacked FULL of it! Those ANKLES!!! Her dedication and discipline is inspiring. Ladies and Gentlemen, Youth Dancer Spotlight is so pleased to feature Miss Haley Hartsfield from Texas!!! Full Name: Haley Hartsfield. Q. How old are you? A. I am 14 years old Q. Who are you currently dancing with? A. I attend the Academy of Dance Arts in Allen, Texas. Q. What is your favorite form of dance? A. My favorite form of dance is ballet. It gives me something to continuously work towards, knowing I will never be perfect at it. Ballet makes me want to work harder to get closer to my goals. Q. If you could take class from anyone, who would it be? A. If I could take class from anyone, I would choose Mikhail Baryshnikov. Mainly because hes a ballet legend and just to meet him would be amazing. Q. Who/What inspires you to dance? A. The person that inspires me is, Sylvie Guillem. Her technique, artistry, originality and FEET amaze me. Q. What would be your dream dance job? A. My dream dance job would be to go directly into a professional company after I graduate high school. If I dont go directly into a company after I graduate, I hope to go to New York City to major in dance. Q. What has been your greatest dance accomplishment thus far? A. My greatest dance accomplishment has been overcoming my nerves and gaining more confidence before a performance. Q. Any special awards or scholarships? Scholarships consist of full scholarships to Joffrey New York, Glenda Brown Choreography Project, and Relativity School in California. I have also been offered a Trainee position for Joffrey New York and Moxie Dance Theatre. I have attended YAGP for 6 consecutive years, most recently placing 2nd place in the contemporary category as well as an early acceptance to NCSA from a YAGP judge. ******If you are a dancer under the age of 21 and youd like to be considered for next weeks Youth Dancer Spotlight, its EASY!!! Submit your favorite dance photos to me here via messenger by Friday, October 3rd. If chosen, I will send you a brief questionnaire to fill out and return to me by Sunday, October 5th. Dancers will be featured on Monday! Thats it!!! Dancers under the age of 18, please get your parents permission before submitting your photos!***
