Happy Woof-O-Ween Donation Drive for the South Kingstown Animal Shelter October 1st through the 31st Six students (Shenne Bozsum, Autumn Smith, Emma Gottrell, Haley Tucker, Madeleine Mc Carthy,Julianna Philippi) the Sapphire Team at Broadrock Middle School organized a wildly successful donation drive for the South Kingstown Animal Shelter during the month of October! These six young ladies discovered during their weekly Advisory period that they shared a passion and commitment for animals in need. They reached out via e-mail and phone calls to the Shelter, brainstormed ideas for the Drive at weekly meetings, followed through on their organizational plans for the entire month of October, and made new wonderful personal relationships. Through the project, the girls developed communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. The girls used the Shelter’s Wish List to target specific and needed items. They collected food, treats, toys, nightlights, cleaning products, bedding, etc… These girls were incredibly enthusiastic, articulate, and persistent! On November 6th, the Shelter staff arrived to picked up the donations at BRMS and left with avan-load of needed supplies. A sense accomplishment and pride certainly was felt by all of these amazing BRMS students! Thank you to ALL the generous members of the BRMS community who made donations and supported this important work! On behalf of the strays of the South Kingstown Animal Shelter, thank you!
