I hope we all realise this is just a game to Israel. A game that is being paid for by the blood of Palestinians. - During the past couple of weeks, agreement talks have been ongoing. The terms represented by the Palestinian government fall into one of two categories: they are either basic human rights, or promises already agreed to by Israel in the Oslo Accords of 1995. This means that nothing new is being presented in these negotiations. In fact, the terms themselves would not require much thought for any righteous, moral, or dignified people to accept (all of which Israel claim to be). However, it seems that the supposition of granting fundamental rights or upholding previous promises is far too heavy for Israel. - Israel has a long history of instigating conflict then thriving on insecurities in order to perpetuate the victims as aggressors. It is still unclear whether this is a stance to convince themselves and keep their conscience intact, or simply a form of propaganda to garner public support. There has been an agreed ceasefire the past few days. Unfortunately, this has not stopped Israel from constantly sending drones into Gaza, firing airstrikes at fishermen near Rafah, and killing more than 20 Palestinians in the annexed areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem, including two 12 year old children. These actions can only be viewed as provocations in order to blame any resistance for ending the ceasefire. As we all know, any resistance to Israels indiscriminate slaughter of civilians is automatically classed terrorism. Yet admittedly, the Palestinian government have held fast to this ceasefire and continue to attend these agreement talks. Talks which may as well be a playground for Israels bloodshed elsewhere. - Egypt are complicit in this game. President Al-Sisi has given a new definition to inhumanity. Hundreds of Palestinians with life-threatening injuries are awaiting medical attention at the Rafah crossing between Egypt and Gaza. These people have a double-nationality; this means they are also Egyptian citizens. Taking them in would be no favour- all they seek is to rely on basic medical care provided by their state. Then again, what human rights does anyone on the other side of the Rafah crossing have in the eyes of Al-Sisi? He has kept the border closed, costing the lives of many more on the edge of salvation. Not only is this a criminal act, but also an instance of extreme hypocrisy. A few miles away, the borders between Egypt and Israel are always open. Al-Sisi allows Israeli citizens to enter and leave Egypt at will, without Visa or citizenship. This is no more than another deliberate provocation; another game played by these sick people at the price of real human lives. - A couple of weeks ago when Israel were hesitant to negotiate with Hamas, they blamed Al-Sisi. Netanyahu voiced his concern that he did not want to upset Al-Sisi whom rejected discussions with Hamas. A few days before that, Egypt were apparently the brokers of a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel. They said they are willing to negotiate but Hamas does not want to. Such contradictory tales are voiced within the context of airstrikes raiding towns and reducing them to rubble along with their people. At the same time, these world leaders are engaged in a childish game of but he/ she said; a twisted form of amusement only paralleled by their blatant disregard for human life. With the ever-shifting landscape of these games, Palestinians have kept to the same stance: a ceasefire can happen today, tomorrow, or now, as long as you negotiate to lift the siege. - The three kidnapped teenagers situation which arguably amassed this whole conflict has been a source of extreme controversy. It is very unlikely Hamas were involved, since they were forming a coalition government at the time with Fatah (to Israels dismay), and would have no reason to taint it. Yet Netanyahu jumped the barrel as soon as the matter arose and said Hamas are responsible and Hamas will pay. No proof, no story, but judgement delivered- for a state which claims to be democratic and follow the Rule of Law, this is rather strange. What further reinforces this event as another play by Israel is the sequence of events. It later emerged that the the three teenagers were confirmed dead from the beginning, but were reported as kidnapped to the public. This manipulation was profited upon by the Israeli government whom with full knowledge of the corpses being found went on to instigate rallies, campaigns of bring our boys back, and promote further hatred by extending the time period of grievance. All that was left was to announce they had found the corpses, and release the pressure built. Israel then went on to use the public support concocted, and international publicity as cover to arrest more than 800 Palestinians with no charge, and fire airstrikes killing one and injuring more than ten in Gaza. Israeli settlers also kidnapped a young boy and burned him alive after making him drink gasoline. Hamas renewed their rocket attacks in response to this. Let us bear in mind that that Israel have kidnapped more than 8,000 Palestinian children in the past decade. Let us also bear in mind that the conditions of the siege upon Gaza are so horrid that more people die from malnutrition and other medical conditions per week than they would during one of Israels operations. They are already condemned to a slow death, a systematised method of ethnic cleansing within the biggest concentration camp ever built. What Israel does not mention, is that Hamass retaliation had been completely restrained. Israel had been provoking Gaza from early April when the coalition government was being discussed; far before any teenagers were allegedly kidnapped. During this time, airstrikes hit random areas of Gaza. When one form of provocation does not work, Israel create another. This is repeated until an insecurity they can captialise on emerges. - The past month has seen John Kerry, the US Secretary of State continuously attempt to reconcile a ceasefire for the sake of peace. The latest of his attempts was met by one of Israels Security Cabinet Ministers whom labelled Kerrys proposal a strategic terrorist attack. This statement itself clarifies Israels view of peace. It is terrorism in their eyes. Going by this logic, their extreme opposition to any fair solution and continued bloodshed is suddenly easy to understand. As I said, Israel are playing a sick sick game, and the only ones to suffer are the people of Palestine.
