Happy sunny Tuesday Boogie Miters! On my travels between teaching, yes Im a public transport gal with a big suitcase of all my boogie mites props! I see lots of parents, mostly mums travelling on buses and trains with their little ones in pushchairs. For the most part they mull along quite happily, children munching on a bag of crisps while mum chats to them intermittently whilst thinking of a million other things they have to get done, occasionally its a very sad sight as the toddler is pretty much ignored as they trough their way through a Happy Meal while mum has her iPhone streaming constantly into her ears. However yesterday I saw a fabulous example of mum and 2 children on a fairly busy train, the older one a girl of around 3 1/2 and a younger brother of around 18 months. Mum spent most of the journey keeping them entertained singing (much to the annoyance of some tutting commuters!) the children laughed and sang along enthralled the entire time, until the little girl looked at me and asked me why I was sad, I explained I wasnt sad just a bit tired and then she said are you sad because your kitten has run away?. Now I dont and never have owned a kitten! I laughed and said no I was just a bit sleepy the mum then stepped in and said the lady has been working hard all day and is a bit worn out! The little girl then said no mummy shes sad because her cat has run away and now she doesnt have anyone to give the cat food to! Amazing! A rich, if random, imagination, now I may be biased but they are clearly a family who sing and interact a huge amount and there is a confident imaginative child. Coincidence? I think not! Til next week keep singing! Emma x
