Hard to believe we were in the mid to upper 90s earlier this week - TopicsExpress

Hard to believe we were in the mid to upper 90s earlier this week when we struggled to get into the 60s today ! But it will be much warmer tomorrow ahead of our next cold front that promises to bring another squall line of storms to north Texas. This video shows the forecast radar for Sunday and Monday. Nothing is expected throughout the day on Sunday, but then a fast-moving storm system will approach us after midnight Sunday night into the predawn hours of Monday dragging a line of storms through the area. Because this line will be moving through our area during the least unstable part of the day, our severe weather threat will be limited to a small window of opportunity for some hail and straightline winds. Pockets of heavy rain are also in the forecast, but they will be brief due to the swift movement of the line. As the line passes east of us early Monday morning it will run into an increasingly warm and humid air mass across far east Texas into the Mississippi Valley where you can see it transform into a large squall line of potentially damaging wind storms, very heavy rains and even the threat for tornadoes with storms that will fire in advance of the line. Very dry air air will pour into north Texas behind this system knocking rain chances out of the forecast for at least the next week or so, but pleasant temperatures will prevail, especially by Wednesday morning when upper 40s to low 50s will be common across north Texas. Highs on Monday will be stuck in the 60s but will return to the 70s and 80s for the rest of the week into next weekend.
