Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary Celebration MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Milwaukee’s oldest and largest dealership of Harley-Davidson products announced Wednesday, July 10th specific details for the six-day, 110th anniversary celebration at The House of Harley-Davidson, scheduled for August 26th through September 2nd. The six-day event will be held on the blocked off Layton Avenue between 60th and 64th Streets. Each day will feature unique rides, music and a festive atmosphere for enthusiasts for all ages. Highlights of the schedule include: Wednesday, August 28th — Military Day Public ride highlights Military Recognition Day, which will be led by Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and benefit Fisher House Wisconsin. Ride begins at Greenfield High School parking lot and heads to the Civil War Memorial at the Zablocki VA Grounds near the Fisher House. Registration is $25 per person at HouseOfHarley and includes a t-shirt. Sony Music Nashville artist and American Idol alumnus Casey James will headline a full day of music on Military Day, featuring his sophomore single “Crying on a Suitcase.” The day will also include a flyover from the Wisconsin Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, full service Color Guard, and guests will be able to experience the U.S. Marine Corps’ Simulated Marksmanship Trainer (ISMT) and explore Oshkosh Defense Military Vehicles. Thursday, August 29th – Law Enforcement Day Public ride to benefit Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) will be led by television star Erik Estrada (Ponch from CHiPs). Registration is $25 at HouseOfHarley. Ride will go to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Memorial for a bike blessing. A Ponch Look-­ Alike contest will be conducted in the morning, with prizes for the best costumes and a chance to meet the real Ponch. American country music artist Chris Cagle will headline the music for Law Enforcement Day, featuring smash hits “Chicks Dig It,” “I Breath In, I Breath Out,” “Laredo,” and “What a Beautiful Day.” The day will also feature a Marksmanship Competition,K9 unit demonstrations, team trucks and more. Friday, August 30th – Firefighter Day Public ride benefiting Muscular Dystrophy (MDA) of Milwaukee will feature 1970s TV star from the hit show “Emergency!” Randolph Mantooth (Johnny Cage). Registration is $25 at HouseOfHarley. Ride will go to the Milwaukee lakefront for a firefighter display. Country musicartist Aaron Lewis (lead singer of Staind) will headline the Friday night celebration, singing his hit songs “Outside,” which he recorded with Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst, “Country Boy,” and “Endless Summer.” A special Firefighter Bar will be set up on Friday,and the day will also include a custom bike show in the morning and an auction in the afternoon. Saturday, August 31st Latin American riders are invited to enter their bikes in a Harlista Bike Show competition. Cash prizes will be given away as voted on by spectators. Internationally renowned Beatles cover band The Britains will headline a full day of live music, food and activities on Saturday. Sunday, September 1st – Women Rider’s Day A day designed to celebrate the ladies who love Harley-­ Davidson will feature an open ride at 2 p.m. with proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation of Southeast Wisconsin. The ride will head to Milwaukee’s lakefront and back to the House of Harley-Davidson. All participants will receive a commemorative 110th Anniversary pink t-shirt. The day will feature a personalized Pink Balloon Release Party, along with food, drinks. Special vendors offering pink hair extensions, pink photos and more. Monday, September 2 – House of Harley Ride to Miller Park The culmination of the six-day celebration is a special ride to Miller Park for the 1:10 Brewers Game. Ride is $25 and includes breakfast, ride, parking and ticket. A pancake breakfast begins at 10 a.m. at the House of Harley-Davidson until 11:30 a.m., followed by the ride to Miller Park and parking near Helfaer Field to see the Milwaukee Brewers battle the Pittsburgh Pirates at 1:10 p.m. Registration is available online and onsite at House of Harley-Davidson only with a limited number of tickets.
