Harley is still in the shop. Good news is all the parts arrived Friday along with all this nasty weather. Oh well, they are starting the work on Tuesday. Ill probably have them delivery it back to me. I dont want to ride on the streets right now. So, Im back at my reloading bench having some fun. Im making cases for a 300 Blackout. I dont even have the rifle built yet but the ammo will be waiting. I do have the lower built, Im just trying to decide if I build an upper or buy one already completed. Here are some pictures. Left to Right. 223 (5.56 x 45) loaded round, 223 (5.56 x 45) empty case, next youll see that the neck gets cut off the case right at the bottom of the shoulder. I do this with a small air power cut off wheel. The cut doesnt need to be perfect we will fix that later. Then we resize that case in a 300 Blackout sizing die, next that case is trimmed to length. 1.368 inches. Finally there is a finished loaded round. Should be a lot of fun to shoot this round in a carbine. 150 grain Nosler ballistic tip bullet should be running about 1800 fps.
