Harris County Waste Pits trial for 35 years of toxic, carcinogenic - TopicsExpress

Harris County Waste Pits trial for 35 years of toxic, carcinogenic waste has reached a verdict. Waste Management and McGinnis Industrial Maintenance Corporation settled for an undisclosed amount with the County. However, the other defendants, International Paper and Champion Paper (who created the waste and knew it was leaking into the River) were found not guilty by the jury. I support Harris Countys decision to settle and I am disappointed our residents of Harris County passed on an opportunity to hold environmental polluters. The battle over the San Jacinto River Waste Pits is far from over.
